Dorothy Adams founded the Buffalo Historical Society in August of 2000.  We saw a need for a Museum to preserve our history and in October 2002, applied for a grant from the Riverboat Development Authority.

We were fortunate enough to receive a $10,000 grant from R.D.A. and our Museum program began.  Our projects of a 100 year time capsule, flying 50 flags at Rose Hill Cemetery , a local 381-prefix phone book and a new Buffalo Sign at Dodge and Route #22 have been completed.

We also recently purchased a huge Buffalo for display outside the Museum.  We were able to purchase this with the help of proceeds from the sale of 1899/2006 Historical calendars, which we made.

We are located at the old Town Hall at 409 3rd Street.  This building is over 102 years old, and we have future plans of restoring this building to its original Grandeur.

Please come visit us!  You won't be disappointed!
